| I have an ota. I can not get the z axis close enough to the chuck. I need to travel z minus 1 more inch. The machine looks as if it has 3 more inches of mechanical travel. The machineis at -450 when the travel stops. the exact alarm is 1002 soft limit 2. Is this a switch or parameter? | |

| 3 | General Category / Fanuc Controls / Fanuc OM Won't start a program.... HELP on: 07/09/10 at 2:33pm |
| Started by tieman55 | Post by tieman55 | |
| I have a Fanuc OM It will not start in Auto or MDI. It happened when it was making a tool change. Now it is frozen. Every button seems to work, according to the Diagnostics. There are no alarm. I can send and receive programs. All the controls seem to work. It just won't start a program. The cursor is blinking and I can move it through the program. It did this a couple times before, but after I let it set overnight , it worked. This time it did not. The machine zeros fine. I can move the turret , but I can not get it to do a tool change, as the spindle will not orient with out the M19 command. And it will not start in MDI with any command. I have had a problem with the encoder on the tool changer , but when it went bad, the tool changer just got lost , it never froze up the machine. I have checked the diagnostics on the encoder and it looks ok, but I really don't know the binary for that encoder to see if it is right. All the 700 diagnostics are all 00000000 . I have checked the limit switch on the tool changer and all are correctly made up. HELP, Mike in Las Vegas |

| Boy, this is all new to me! But I'm having an alarm code on my Kitamura Mycenter 3 with a Fanuc 11M control. I can't seem to find it in my documetation anywhere. It is "operatr map_log". Not sure how significant it is, either, as we can usually run the machine with no problem. Any answers out there? Thanks. | |

| Not Ready means your machine is in an EStop condition. Check your wiring diagram for the Estop string to see what could be causing it. |

| 7 | General Category / Fanuc Controls / FANUC 6T PULSE GENERATOR INOP. on: 04/02/10 at 12:13am |

| I have a MAZAK Slant Turn 15 with FANUC 6T controls that I recently purchased and just powered up. The only function on the machine that DOES NOT work is the moving the x & z axis using the hand wheel/ pulse generator. I checked for power to the pulse generator - 5V which I have, and also 24v to the x/z axis selector switch, which I have. Is there a way to check the pulse generator to see if it is functioning using a multimeter? Other than the physical wiring and connections are there any other items which I should look at? The wiring manual which came with the machine is basically useless so any input would greatly be appreciated before I start sending out the boards. |

| 8 | General Category / Fanuc Controls / Fanuc 6T-Model B, 401 Alarm on: 03/08/10 at 3:49pm |

| Have a Hitachi-Seiki 4NE-600 lathe that stops at alarm 401 (servo) during execution of program. I have three Fanuc manuals 1) Operators Manual (B-52244E/01) 2) Maintenance Manual (B-52245E/01) and 3rd) unknown, as front cover is missing along with pages 135-138,143-148 and last page is 332(not sure if there should be more). As these pages refer to alarm 401 and are torn from book, they are probably the right way to follow for repair. Question is, does anyone recognize manual, and can anyone supply replacement copies of pages missing? I have attached copy of first page of manual in question and any hint on 401 error would be welcomed I have attached a link to cncforums website for thumbnail attachment as I can not seem to attach here. I asked on that website but have not received input other then from servo rebuilder company with generic help. http://cncforums.machinetoolhelp.com/fanuc-controls/1619-fanuc-6t-model-b-401-al arm.html |

| hi I am Kashyap, I have one VMC in my compay. since last 3 months i am facing one problem that is regarding as communication with NC. My cnc control board shows the massage like "atleast one configure module(Y axis) is missed" or sometime it shows like "communication to NC failed". I have cheacked all the cables at the axis drive as those all are ok. One interesting thing is that when this massage came i just restart the machine for 4 or 5 times sometimes the alarm gets solved. One another thing i cannot understand is that, it gives massage in communication log like "communication error in ddl". Please suggest me regarding this problem. |
